Why Behind Food Safety Update (2022)

Nearly ten years ago, an unlikely bond was formed when Lauren Bush and Rylee Gustafson met with farmers in California where more than 70% of the nation’s lettuce and leafy greens are grown.

When visiting, the two shared stories of how their lives turned upside down after eating contaminated spinach. That meeting spurred food safety training changes in the industry that continue today.
