2025 Romaine Test & Learn Updates

In August and December 2024, the CA LGMA Advisory Board voted to make several changes to the Romaine Test & Learn program.

Automatic Programming Interface (API)
Automatic Programming Interface (API) connections from laboratories are strongly recommended to simplify the submission of data. Laboratories are in the process of setting up this streamlined offering. 

APIs allow auto submission of data from the laboratory to GreenLink®. The CA LGMA handler can choose to manually approve each API file transfer prior to data going into the database. Alternatively, the CA LGMA Handler can authorize for the file transfer to proceed without their manual approval to streamline the process.

APIs maintain the third-party chain of custody, ensure consistent reporting and eliminate the need for LGMA Handlers to manually upload data files. 

Template Updates
A new CA LGMA Data Submission Template Version 4 (V4) will be required for those CA LGMA handlers not using an API. The new version of the submission template includes the following additional data fields:

- Unique Identifier per sample (lab sample ID, work order, etc. is recommended) 
- Laboratory name
- Standardized language for test results 
- First Screening PCR Negative
- First Screening PCR Positive
- Second Confirmatory PCR Negative
- Second Confirmatory PCR Positive 
- Culture Confirmation Positive (PCR presumptive)
- Culture Confirmation Negative (PCR presumptive)

2024 Romaine Test & Learn Introductory Information

In September 2023, the CA LGMA Advisory Board voted to accept several changes to the required food safety standards, including the addition of the Romaine Testing and Data Analysis Program /aka Romaine Test & Learn.
