Food Safety Practices Updated - October 2012

Submitted by april on Tue, 2012-10-02 13:50

At the July 10, 2012 meeting of the LGMA Technical Committee a series of suggested changes to the LGMA's food safety practices (also known as leafy green standards, metrics or good agricultural practices) were presented for consideration. The Technical Committee voted to forward 25 of these changes to the Advisory Board with a recommendation to accept.  On August 3, 2012 the LGMA Advisory Board met and accepted 21 of these proposed changes to the LGMA food safety practices.

Attached is a document that outlines the changes that have been made to the January 12, 2012 metrics document.

These changes do not require any changes to the current audit checklist.

They clarify current practices, emphasize intent of existing language or update scientific references.

The complete updated food safety practices can be found at:  www.lgma.ca.gov/food-safety-practices/downloads.
